One of my favorite activities to do in my free-time is to watch sports. Some of my favorite networks on TV are NBA TV, the NFL Network, and ESPN. So, needless to say, I am ecstatic that Storplace Self Storage of Hickory Hollow and our other 14 locations are closed on Sundays. Our office hours are  Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5:30pm. Our customers still have access to the property via computer controlled gate access when the office is closed. Being off every Sunday is great because I have a full day to watch any sporting event that I would like. The first Sunday in February kicks off with the biggest sporting event in football: The 2014 Super Bowl. So, if you enjoy watching sports like me, mark your calendar for February 2, 2014 to watch the Denver Broncos (13-3) and the Seattle Seahawks (13-3) go head-to-head for the title of Super Bowl Champions. The Denver Broncos are led by Coach John Fox and quarterback Peyton Manning, who is a native of Tennessee. The Seattle Seahawks are led by Coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Russell Wilson. The kick off for the game is at 6:25 (EST) and the halftime show will feature Bruno Mars and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. This year’s Super Bowl is the first to be played outside in an extremely cold environment. The game, which will be a battle between players and Mother Nature, is at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. As usual, you can expect the amazing commercials we have all grown to love over the years. An interesting fact is that the current rate for a 30-second commercial is approximately $4 million dollars!

One exciting event that is taking place on Super Bowl Sunday, is “A Super Bowl to Remember” party for the Make-A-Wish” Foundation at the Wildhorse Saloon on 2nd Ave. in downtown Nashville from 3pm to 11pm. For more information, you can visit their website.  At this event, you can watch the game on Tennessee’s largest indoor video screen, enjoy free appetizers and make a generous donation to “Make the Wish” of many ill children come true. You can also watch the game at many local taverns, bars, or in the warm comfort of your home with family and friends.

Have fun and enjoy the big game!
