Home Staging and Self Storage

Selling Your Home

StorPlace Self Storage received the following testimonial about home staging and self storage. The majority of people who are moving to new homes do so in the summer. In order to make your home “show” in the best possible light to perspective buyers, you might need to stage your home. Staging a home is basically de-cluttering, minimizing, painting, fixing up and re-decorating the home for potential buyers.

Like the typical home owner, after living in our home for several years, we collected a lot of things. Stuff we don’t want to get rid of. After discussing with a few realtors, they all confirmed we had too much stuff in our home. There are things that my wife and I did not want to get rid of. The realtors said we need to make our home less personal to sell it, so that the new buyer can picture this as their home. In other words we need to remove the clutter. The realtor said we need to stage our home to make it more sellable-more presentable. They also told us potential buyers, sometimes will not buy a home that looks to personalized, or may not buy the home if they see it as having too much junk in it. We were told “Less is better”. So what do we do with our belongings? We had a couple of garage sales but we still had items we did not want to get rid of. A friend recommended that we use StorPlace Self Storage so we contacted them and rented a heated and cooled unit. This has resolved our issue and we have since sold our house.

Memorial Day in Murfreesboro 2014

Memorial Day in Murfreesboro

Memorial Day is about remembering our veterans and military personnel and the sacrifices they have made to our country.    It is also a day that is most often spent with family and friends and the official kick off of the summer season.   Here is an idea for how you can celebrate our veterans and military personnel through sponsoring a flag from the Murfreesboro Noon Exchange Club and an idea for a Family Fun day at Sports*Com Boro Beach.

6th Annual Healing Field here in Murfreesboro

This year is going to be the 6th Annual Healing Field here in Murfreesboro from May 24th through May 26th.  This is put on by the Murfreesboro Noon Exchange Club.  They will be posting hundreds of full size flags on six-foot tall white poles in tribute to our veterans and military.  This is going to be held at 3045 Memorial Blvd by Wilson Bank and Trust. You can sponsor a flag and also take it home after the event by visiting their website at http://www.healingfield.org/murfreesboro/  for more information.

Family Fun

Sports*Com Boro Beach is having a special Memorial Day celebration on Monday, March 26th.  If you are looking for a good, quality day out with your family this is a great option.  They are offering a day of swimming, music, fun, and prizes.  The fee is $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth and seniors.  Access their webpage through the Murfreesboro Website at http://www.murfreesborotn.gov by following the icons for Parks and Recreation and looking for Sports*Com.

StorPlace Self Storage, appreciates the service and sacrifice our service women and men make each and every day.  So on behalf of the entire StorPlace Self Storage  family; thank you to all of the veterans, active duty, and reserve personnel for your service and your sacrifice.

Security and Safety

StorPlace Self StorageHave you ever wondered how safe and secure your belongings are?  Much like the old adage “you get what you pay for”, self storage facilities come in all shapes and sizes with different amenities.  Each storage facility offers some features to consider, but we at StorPlace Self Storage feel we offer that little something extra.

Self storage security should include cylinder locks, digital camera systems, gated access, barb-wire fence, and personal daily walk-through at the properties by company employees. There are so many things a person can do to assure themselves that they get the very best.

Our high security cylinder locks are made of the hardest steel with 21 brass pins that allows not only thousands of different key changes, but anti-pick punch resistant mechanisms.  Three high security round keys comes with every tenant’s lock, which are difficult to copy except at a qualified locksmith shop.  These locks alone can be a deterrent to someone with ill-gotten intentions.

Digital site surveillance is top of the line at StorPlace Self Storage. We have cameras that record each time a motion is detected.  Don’t scratch your nose because “Big Brother” will surely capture you on hidden camera! This remarkably clear footage is one of the best surveillance systems to have in place.

Along with the digital system our properties are surrounded by 8 foot chain linked and wrought iron fences topped with barbed wire. The gated properties are accessed by individual assigned security pass codes. Gate Passage is then recorded. Date stamping with customers name and time.  Coinciding with our digital camera system, we feel the security at StorPlace is very secure.

Each day, our employees walk the property and verify the safety and security of each customer’s storage door and lock.  Fences and lighting are also monitored to assure proper facility up-keep as well as security.

Other considerations when choosing a storage facility would be cleanliness and pest control.   With the help of Belle Meade Exterminators, StorPlace Self Storage has monthly service to prevent problems with rodents and bugs, and our well-trained employees sweep, mop and maintain the grounds and buildings to keep them clean.

Stop by anytime at one of our 16 convenient locations for a site tour and see for yourself.  You really do “get what you pay for” and you also “get your money’s worth” too!   We are located in Bellevue, Antioch, Hendersonville, Madison, Hermitage, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood and Bowling Green, KY.

The Great Outdoors in Middle Tennessee

Barfield Crescent Park-MurfreesboroIf you enjoy the great outdoors like we do here at StorPlace Self-Storage in Murfreesboro, then you will be excited to learn about some great programs sponsored by Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation.  Whether you’re a long time resident, an MTSU student or just passing through, you are sure to enjoy what Murfreesboro and Rutherford County have to offer.

Camping has been a summer tradition shown in movies, TV, and enjoyed by a large majority of the population for a long time. In fact, the widely regarded “father of recreational camping”, Thomas Hiram Holding, wrote the first guide to what is considered modern camping in 1908! While there are many stunning places to enjoy the great outdoors in Middle Tennessee and the surrounding areas, not everyone wants to drive 30-40 minutes to find a serene spot; or for some, you might not have all the equipment necessary!  Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation has created the perfect, family friendly camping event for those who want a get-away without the travel or worry that you will be unprepared to brave the elements.

On May 9th-10th, the Wilderness Station is holding a Family Campout at the Barfield Campground! For $10/Adult and $5/Child, you will have a 1-mile guided hike to the campground where Wilderness Station staff will be at hand to help you settle in.  Additionally, dinner and breakfast are included in your registration fee, as well as children’s activities, night hikes, owl prowls, and much more! The Wilderness Station can provide equipment and gear as requested; this event is great for everyone, even those who have never camped before!  Check out this link to Family-Campout for more information on this event and to reserve your spot today.  Make sure to attend their Wilderness Awareness Workshop before you camp (it’s free, and a great resource for outdoor knowledge and tips!).

For those who want to head further out from civilization for their nature experience, try Riverview Primitive Camp! This is a small, family owned campsite located outside of Murfreesboro which offers clean, mowed campsites along the Duck River. They conveniently sell firewood and rent canoes as well!

Good luck on your camping expeditions this summer! Once the camping season is over, stop by StorPlace Self-Storage to rent a unit for all the new gear you accumulated!
