Social Media and the Self Storage Opportunities

Heated and Cooled Storage Units at StorPlace Self StorageNetworking in the Social Media World.

I have heard it said many times that location, location; location is everything in the real estate market. And although I agree with that premise I would contend that networking and impeccable Customer Service is as valuable a key for businesses thriving during any economy. There is no substitute for getting your business name out in the field. At StorPlace of Cool Springs there are several ways that we do networking.

Word of mouth has long proven to be our best marketing tool. A happy customer tells others of their positive experience. We are always delighted to get referrals because that tells us we are doing things right. At StorPlace we offer up to $50 referral fee for sharing our name with your friends. It is an easy way to store your valuables and get a financial benefit. Refer a friend and reap the financial reward. See any StorPlace manager for details.

Another strong component of networking is Social Media. Those of us that are of a certain age….say Senior are in amazement at how important Social Media has become. Even this blog, if chosen will be on the StorPlace Website. Wait….What? A Blog…..what is that.

Well according to Webster it’s a noun – a website containing a writer’s or group of writers’ own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites. This is true and is what we do here at StorPlace. Managers and Assistant Managers take turns different times of the year writing about our insight for storage.

Website…..now what in the world is that…again a noun – Digital Technology. a connected group of pages on the World Wide Web regarded as a single entity, usually maintained by one person or organization and devoted to a single topic or several closely related topics

We could probably go on and on with this but you get the idea. If you are reading this Blog you found your way to our Website

As important as Social Media in our business Customer Service and a well maintained property are very important. With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to name a few a satisfied or unsatisfied customer and post comments about your facility quicker than they can leave the parking lot. rtant Social Media has become. Even this blog, if chosen will be on our the Sty bThe best way to make sure we get positive feedback is to follow the golden rule, “do unto others as you would have done to you” the benefit is that people see us in the community as fair responsive organization which makes renting a unit from us more desirable. Positive visibility can only help your bottom line. It is a win-win for everyone

Storage Tips for The Woodworking Hobby Enthusiast

StorPlace Self Storage in Bowling Green KentuckyWood working is one of my favorite hobbies. However, wood is not cheap so I searched for a way to find lumber that people no longer need and just wanted gone. I posted a few adds advertising free haul away and clean up. This was a good and bad way of getting free lumber.

The good side is that I was getting some legit calls for good quality lumber from nearby home remodels and the ever growing construction sites popping up around where I live. The down side to this was it was all scrapes and nothing was really workable without piecing two or more pieces together. Another downside to the construction sites was that I had to haul away all the other stuff that goes with construction sites drywall, roofing and siding. After doing this for a couple of months with not great success I received a call from my mom and she told me that her neighbor Mary Ray came by the house and asked if I could cut a maple tree that had fallen from the storms of the previous week.

Without hesitation I told her I would and would be out there after church on the following Sunday. Mary Ray is one of the kindest ladies I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. After my mom’s divorce Mary ray took care of me and my sisters when my mom worked late at the Hospital. That following Sunday I pulled in the driveway of Mary rays and she met me still all dolled up from church and gave me a big huge. The monster is around back as she laughed I followed her around the house and I had to take a step back when I saw the tree. Mary ray said her and her husband met under the tree and that’s why he built the house where he did. I could tell she was very upset seeing the tree that stood over her for her entire life laying lifeless all over her back yard.

Her Husband James pasted away two years ago and now knowing the Importance of this particular tree. I wanted to do something special for her. The cleanup of this tree was crazy I worked on it from two forty that afternoon till I ran out of sunlight and I only got half of the tree cut. With huge piles of wood. Enough that I wouldn’t have to scavenge the scrapes from construction sites for a couple of years. I just didn’t have anywhere to put it. I looked up some nearby storage facilities and found StorPlace self-storage and purchased a huge outside unit to keep the wood from rotting.

Now with all the wood I need I can concentrate on building Mary Ray a outdoor gazebo she loves gardening and I wanted to give her something that reminds her of James and brings her some comfort knowing that the tree that was huge part of her life is still with her just in a new form.
