Exciting News Upcoming for StorPlace of Murfreesboro Road Self-Storage

StorPlace Self Storage of GreenwoodWe are very excited about some upcoming changes at StorPlace of Murfreesboro Rd. that we will be unveiling in the winter months. Very shortly, we hope to be the new and improved StorPlace of Murfreesboro Road Self-Storage Facility.

The improvements and expansion will help StorPlace Self Storage continue to meet the needs of our current and future tenants. The new addition of the heated and cooled two-story building will add flavor and a modern look to this beautiful property.

As the community grows, StorPlace Self Storage will continue to work hard to improve its facilities to meet the demands of the area. Additional heated and cooled units will be added for the homeowners and apartment dwellers that need to store their precious treasures that are temperature sensitive. Items such as household goods, musical instruments, electronic devices, and antique furniture can be stored with no worries. We also have large convenient outdoor drive up units for storing vehicles and any type of business inventory.

Being centrally located to so many apartment homes, we find that the residents seem to never have enough closet space. With our convenient location and drive up walk-in-closet size units, the space is adequate for your extra items. These units are perfect for the extra over flow such as outdoor grills, bicycles, and small garden tools.

Our new show room will feature a full line of moving and packing supplies and we will have additional dedicated staff on hand to give valuable tips on how to pack and store your belongings. With every size box on hand for lamps, flat screened televisions, dishes, and boxes for every size picture and mirror, the worries of moving will all but disappear.

As the time draws near, we would like to encourage you to join in our excitement and
anticipation of our new expansion. I am sure that as we continue to work hand in hand with our neighbors, StorPlace will exceed your Storage expectations.

Organizing Tips to Start off the New Year

Starting January with Organization ProjectsHappy New Year everyone! We hope you had a warm and safe holiday season! Now that it’s January, it’s a great time to start looking at some organizational ideas. We might have some holiday décor or things we do not have any room for, but just can’t let go of. Here at StorPlace Self Storage, we enjoy being organized. Let’s take a look at an effective way to get organized this first quarter. We’ll also look at some events that are going to be taking place in January.

Organization Tips

Get Organized with Storage Bins

I love decorating for the holidays; I usually shop the “after holiday sales” and accrue more décor and such from time-to-time. Want to know a fantastic way to organize your seasonal décor? First, I would suggest purchasing quite a few sturdy totes. Then I would grab a sharpie and all the decorations that need to be stored. Next, I would suggest packing all of your totes by holiday or however you would like. Go ahead and write on the outside of the tote facing you, which holiday is being stored within. Lastly, organize all of your totes in order as the holidays occur. You could also do this with other belongings. There could be a small section dedicated to photographs, crafts or even scrapbooking supplies. This would be a great idea to have access to and not have to dig through the totes or containers. If storing totes and other kinds of bins, purchasing a storage shelf organizer would be a great idea. A shelf organizer would reduce any back pains from having to move things to get to that one tote or bin you need.

Things to Do

With the holidays over, there’s still some fun to get into this month! Here’s some fun things that will be happening nearby…

Southern Invitational Indoor Tractor and Truck Pull

For those interested in motorsports, the Southern Invitational Indoor Truck and Tractor Pull will take place at the Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, on Friday January 29th and Saturday January 30th.  This would be a great event to take the whole family to for an action packed time!

At StorPlace Self Storage of Barfield, we hope you have a bright and beautiful year ahead!

Fall Arts and Crafts Projects

Happy September everyone! Fall is a great time to do fun activities involving crafts.   There is so much you could do to introduce the beautiful colors that accompany Fall into your home. Here a few fun projects you could try at home:

Mason jar flower bouquet: This is a fun way to make use of mason jars you might have lying around and add a great pop of color to any room.

autumn decorations

Supplies needed: Gloves, a Mason jar of any size, a bottle of spray paint
in silver or gold, some rustic fall colored flowers or mums (real or faux flowers), twine or burlap strands.

Assembly: Make sure to find a well ventilated area since you will be spray painting. Make sure to wear gloves and lay down some newspaper. Spray paint your jar in a nice gold or silver finish (great accents for Fall). Make sure to allow your Mason jar to fully dry. Take a strand of twine or burlap and tie a bow around the top seal of the jar. You could even try a nice checkered pattern in rustic colors if you want a bit of pizazz. Lastly, put some flowers in your jar and voila you have a beautiful vase and flowers to make a warm welcome in any room.

Personalized wreath: A hand designed wreath that will be special for years to come. Try this craft for the kids!

hand designed craft

Supplies needed: Construction paper (in the colors yellow, red, orange and brown), a glue stick, a pair of scissors, a hot glue gun, burlap, and ribbon.

Assembly: Have the little one in your life hold their hand on a piece of construction paper. Trace the outlines of their fingers and hands. Cut out the outline that you traced. Use this as a guide for the other pieces of construction paper. Once you are done with cutting the outlines, get your glue stick ready. Arrange the colors in a pattern of your choice. Start by gluing the cutouts halfway on top of each other until you make a wreath in the shape of a circle. Next, take some burlap and make a pretty bow. Hot glue the bow to the bottom center of the wreath. Lastly, this is optional, but you could take some ribbon (in any of the fall colors) and tie it around the top to hang this fun craft somewhere. It will be a fun activity for the kids and will be a fun memory for the adults.

StorPlace Self Storage in Barfield enjoys spending time with our family and neighbors in Murfreesboro and spend time creating fun things when we can. We hope you all have a gorgeous September!

Welcome to 2015!

Welcome to 2015

It’s that time of year again when we all start making New Year’s resolutions!  One of the most popular resolutions made each year is losing weight. To be honest, it makes my list every year. Therefore, I decided to find more ways to be active this year. There are actually many different affordable activities to do in the Middle Tennessee area and many different fitness centers to choose from.

One place that I like to go to when looking for fitness and exercise deals is Groupon. Right now there are many deals available such as: barre fitness classes, martial arts lessons, boxing or kick boxing, rock climbing, yoga, dance lessons and so much more.

Murfreesboro also has many different fitness centers. Some of these include Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, Olympus Athletic Club, Anytime Fitness and Murfreesboro Athletic Club. My preferred gym is Planet Fitness. One of the best things about this facility is that it is a 100% Judgment Free Zone. It’s an environment where you feel accepted and comfortable going at your own pace without having to worry about others judging you. Planet Fitness is also very affordable. They have two membership types. The first is a $10/month plan which allows you unlimited access to their gym equipment and unlimited fitness training. The second option is the Black Card membership. This membership is $19.99/month and adds unlimited access to all Planet Fitness locations, use of tanning, and unlimited use of massage chairs, hydromassage beds and the total body enhancement machines. I suggest visiting each fitness center to see which will work best for you and your goals.

There are also many other ways to stay active besides joining a gym. Why not do something fun with your whole family like bowling, roller skating, paint ball shooting, or zip lining. There is something available for all ages.

Or if you prefer to exercise in the comfort of your home, Groupon also has many great deals for purchasing exercise equipment and tools to help you reach your goals. Don’t have enough space at home for bulky equipment? Why not clear out that spare bedroom and put it to good use. At StorPlace Self Storage we can find a perfect storage unit to match your needs!

May you succeed at all your resolutions and become a healthy and happier you! The staff at StorPlace Self Storage wishes our friends, family and customers a very Happy New Year!
